Fire it Up!

If there's anything that catches people's attention and causes them to sit up and take notice of what you're saying or doing, it's ENTHUSIASM! The word enthusiasm is derived from two Greek words: "En", which means IN, and "theos", which means GOD. So enthusiasm literally means "in God", or "God in us"!--Yes I have done my research for this post!!! I think that one of the problems with the modern day church is that there is way to many "Fans" of God and not enough "Followers." We don't know how to press on. We don't know how to keep going. We are ok with just enough!!! We are ok with going to church every now and then. We are ok with just staying the same little wimpy Christian that we've always been. We are ok with just believing in God. Just believing isnt enough. In James 2:19 it says You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder" So I got a question for you. What does your relationship with God look like? Think about that for a moment. Because we as Christians, need to go a little farther. I've talked about being average and lukewarm on my blog before so I'm not going to go to much into this. But i just want you to realize, God want your best!!! Because if you're anything like me, you are tempted day in and day out to just be a Fan of Jesus. Like me, you are probably tempted with different temptations to give into. But today i just want to encourage to go a little further with your realationship with God, and to go past the trials, addictions or tempations that may be holding you back from your full potential so you can Fire Up!!!! You can become a Follower of Jesus instead of sitting on the sidelines just watching. Because just watching is exactly what Satan wants you to do. God wants you to get in the game!!! You can do it!!! Fire Up!!!!
God Bless,
David

Worship

Psalms 29:2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness

In the dictionary the definition of worship is "reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred." Sometimes I think in the modern era of the Christian church, we pay to much attention to the music side of worship. Now please dont misunderstand what i am saying here. Worship is so much more than just singing a song on sunday morning that sounds good. Worship is a way of life. Worshiping God thru music is only one way we can worship Him. Worshiping God can literally bring us into the throne room of heaven. After all, one of the reasons God created us was so we could worship Him. But we can worship God thru the way we live our lives. We can worship Him thru our relationships with others, thru the music we listen to, and thru the choices we make. We can even worship God at our jobs believe it or not!!!

Worshiping God is a honor. Think about it. We have direct access 24/7 to the very God who made the whole entire universe. Thats amazing!!! In everything we do we can worship God.
God Bless,
David

Lukewarm

Revelation 3:15-16

New International Version (NIV)
15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Blah!!! I dont know about you but one of my pet peeves is lukewarm drinks. Lukewarm soda is disgusting! Cold soda on the other hand, is a different story. That can actually have a purpose. Now usually when somebody describes something as lukewarm, they are usually talking about a liquid or something like that. But today I am going to be talking about the Lukewarm Christian. I know a little bit about this since that described me for a little bit. It sucks!! and the thing is its so easy to become lukewarm in our walk with Jesus. All we have to do is back off from God for just a little bit and Wham, the next thing you know you dont seem to have the same fire that you used to have. We become complacent and think that we are good with God and can skip a quiet time or two with Him. Ive been in that place where Satan tries to get you to back off from God and go back to the things (problems) that you used to be involved in. This past week i was at youth camp and i realized that i was settling for average. But as the verse above clearly states, God doesnt want our average. God wants your all!!! Spend time with Him. God loves you and wants to know you more. He can set a fire in you that will make you hot for Him! But a fire wont be able to burn for a long time with just one spark and one piece of wood. The fire has to be continually fed. So if you are already on fire for God, please dont settle for less. continue to feed you fire for God, and He will do mighty things thru you. And if today you find yourself being lukewarm or cold, dont give up. God wants to set you on fire. You may have to make a few sacrifces with your time or other things, but believe me, its worth it.

God Bless,

David

Dont Waste It!!!

When it comes down to it, I think nearly everyone wants their lives to count for something. We all want to make a difference in this world. We all want to know that we are not wasting our lives and squandering the chances that we're given in this life. We want to have a plan for our lives. But Satan also has a plan or goals for you. #1 he wants to see you die. Why? Because he knows that as long as you are still living you have a chance to change your world. Now since Satan can not control life and death (only God can) he tries to get you to waste your life. Wasting your life is basically only living for yourslelf. Definately not a good thing. Satan tries to distract us with things that in the long run, really dont matter at all. Living for yourself is the wasted life. When you look back on your life think about what you want your life to represent. One of my favorite quotes is this one by Tim Tebow,When you die, there’s going to be a tombstone. It’s going to have your name, it’s going to have the year you were born, and it’s going to have the day you died. In between, there’s going to be a dash. And that dash is going to represent everything that you did in your life; good and bad. It’s how you’re remembered. What do you want your dash to represent? Think about that. What do you want to be remembered for? What do you want your life to mean?
